Lex A. Simpson, MD
Dr. Simpson has more than 25-years experience practicing orthopaedic medicine. Prior to joining the ROC he was with CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center, P.C. in Encinitas, Calif. from 2005 to present. Prior to joining CORE, he served as chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at Cleveland Clinic in Florida from 2002 to 2005. Dr. Simpson also held the position of head team physician for the National Hockey League Florida Panthers from 2001 to 2004.
Dr. Simpson earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1974 from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tenn. and a medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1978. After completing his residency in general surgery and orthopaedic surgery at University of South Florida, Dr. Simpson completed a fellowship at Kantonsspital St. Gallen in adult reconstructive and sports medicine, followed by a second fellowship at the University of Toronto, also in adult reconstructive sports medicine.
Dr. Simpson is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is licensed in Florida, California, and Nevada.
Dr. Simpson is Board Certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
