I was sent to the ER from UC and they said they couldn’t do anything for my foot since there was nothing wrong. Went to an ER out in Reno and spent ~3 mins with a Dr and was told it was plantar fasciitis and got a prescription for PT and Ibuprofen and was so defeated and in so much pain and felt like no one even cared what I had to say. I desperately called ROC the next day to see if they had a same day cancellations list I could by any chance be added to and she had asked what was wrong, so I told her. She put me on hold and called every single provider at both locations and got me in - Amanda Keefer said she would fit me in that day. I even said I would be late since I can’t drive (right foot and ankle immobile). And they said that’s ok. Every single person from the desk to imaging through the foot & pain clinic was incredible. And she heard me. And she talked to me. Gave me home care instructions and all the possibilities, what we could be looking at for healing, any long term damage, everything. She didn’t rush me, she let me speak, and she listened. And I felt heard. She scheduled me for MRIs ASAP and a follow up immediately after and is concerned for a plantar fascia rupture (what the UC said) as well as FHL. She then sent me directly to a Pain Clinic where they gave me nerve blockers and for the first time in a long time, I finally slept last night. I am so grateful for ROCs compassion and understanding and genuine care for what they do.
