About John Hansen, MD, FACS

Dr. John Hansen is a board-certified vascular and general surgeon with more than 25 years of experience providing advanced, compassionate care for patients with vascular disease in Northern Nevada. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Dr. Hansen completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Carolina and his vascular surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, where he developed a lifelong commitment to surgical excellence and innovation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hansen has been a driving force in developing comprehensive vascular services in the region. He served as Medical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at both Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Renown Regional Medical Center, where during his tenure, he established high-quality programs for complex aortic, carotid, and peripheral arterial disease management.

His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of open and endovascular procedures, including advanced limb salvage, aneurysm repair, carotid surgery, vascular trauma and dialysis access. He also specializes in anterior lumbar and thoracoabdominal spine exposures in collaboration with spine and orthopedic teams.

A co-founder of ROC Vascular, Dr. Hansen continues to advance his mission of delivering highly skilled, patient-centered vascular care grounded in technical precision, collaboration, and respect.
