Orthopedic Physical Therapy Advanced Training Program

Reno Orthopedic Center Physical Therapy Advanced Training Program prepares clinicians for advanced, evidence-based practice through structured mentorship, direct collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and comprehensive exposure to a diverse patient population and surgical conditions. The program is committed to developing competent, ethical practitioners who deliver high-quality, patient-centered orthopedic care.

Curriculum

Clinical Practice

  • 13 month program
  • 4 hours 1:1 mentoring per week
  • 32 hours of non-mentored clinical hours
  • Full time benefits

Didactic

  • Monthly journal clubs
  • Monthly physician/surgery shadowing
  • 1-2 hours of online learning modules per week
  • Independent study of 4 hours per week

Application and Selection Process

Application deadline for 2027 class: November 13th.

Top candidates will be interviewed from October - December. Final decisions will be made by December 18th.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program
  • Current or eligible for licensure in the state of Nevada
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to meet physical demands of clinical practice
