About Sanjai Shukla, MD

A native Nevadan and proud graduate of Galena High School, Dr. Shukla received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. His completed both his orthopedic residency and a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Dr. Shukla specializes in minimally invasive hip and knee replacements, as well as revision joint replacements and computer-navigated joint replacements.

He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He has published award-winning research in the field of orthopedic surgery. Dr. Shukla has been with the Reno Orthopedic Center since 2016 and is the Director of the Total Joint Program for Renown Health System.

Dr. Shukla is an excellent practioner, both technically adept and caring! As a health care practitioner myself, I can recommend him highly!! The Surgery Center at ROC is great and my whole experience was excellent. I saw Dr. Shukla yesterday for my 2 week post-operative visit and he spent lots of time answering my questions. My left knee TKR arthroplasty treatment and recovery have been a 10 on a 10 scale!!

Extremely organized and efficient intake and communications between departments. X-rays to evaluation by an MD was seamless! Dr. Shukla was excellent! Diagnosed the problem, explained the options and proceeded with ameliorative treatment! An EXCELLENT experience!
