John Zebrack, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. A Reno native, Dr. Zebrack completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada-Reno, and medical school with honors at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2001. After finishing orthopedic residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2006, he returned to Reno to join the Reno Orthopedic Clinic.

Dr. Zebrack specializes in both joint replacement (arthroplasty) and sports medicine (arthroscopy) of the shoulder, hip, and knee.  He performs approximately 150 joint replacements a year.  In addition, Dr Zebrack performs over 250 arthroscopic procedures a year.   Over the course of his practice for the last 14 years the ROC, he has done over 2100 joint replacements and over 3,500 arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, hip, and knee.

Dr. Zebrack has been honored as a Fellow Member of both the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. As a clinical faculty member at the University of Nevada School of Medicine-Reno, Dr. Zebrack enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students.

Dr. Zebrack is the Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the Reno 1868 FC professional soccer team.  As the team surgeon, his responsibilities include helping take care of injuries the players may sustain throughout the year.  He attends the home games on the sidelines and works closely with the athletic trainer and 1868 staff to evaluate and treat the players.

Dr. Zebrack is also the head soccer coach for Nevada United ’03 boys competitive club soccer team.  The team has been ranked in the top 3 in the nation for 2019 and 2020.   He has been coaching in the Reno area since 2008.

Dr. Zebrack also has a special interest in endurance sports and is an accomplished athlete.  He has competed in many Ironman Triathlons, 24-hour solo mountain bike races, and ultra-endurance swim races.  He has competed in the World Triathlon Championships in Hawaii.  In the winter, he enjoys ski racing for the Mt Rose Masters Ski Team.
